Post # 12 (last post!): A brief essay
At last, the final session! This time, you will have to write a brief essay on the use of technologies within the different subjects you've studied this year (Review/opinion).Your essay should have the following structure:- Introduction (100 words)- Body: 2 or 3 paragraphs (200 words)- Conclusion: (100 words)Useful Links & Tips to write your essay:- Basic guide to essay writing- How to write a brief essay- Practical tips to write a brief essayOnce again, enjoy your writing. And good luck to you all.

The use of tecnology has been very helpful in different subjects i've studied this year.
I studied about eight subjects, but i'll write only on the classes i liked.
I think that for me as obstetrician technology is very necessary to perform my job.
Obstetricians do a lot of things apart from make delivery. They do other works like educate, family planning, birth control, baby care, and care of the mother among others.
And to do all of this things, we need the use of technology in many cases.
And this year, the matters more related to my career for me are anatomy and embryology.
So I will explain how technology supports these areas.

Anatomy is a subjcts that helps you to learn how to locate different strucures of the human body.
And as health professionals, is very important for us to know for example how are located blood vessels and nerves. Because we will have to apply injections, anesthetize and administration of serum on users.
You can study anatomy with radiographs, magnetic resonance,
computer programs, sonograms, and all these types of technology are used to know were are exactly the structures under study.
For example, with a sonogram you can see how is the womb of a woman who wants a baby and if she has a pathology, it will be detected immediately in the image.
Indeed, teachers showed magnetic resonance in the class to show the location of organs, large blood vessels, ans muscles.
In embryology, the use of the microscope was the principal means of studying. Now, there are different staining techniques to observe embryonic development.
So, you can see from fertilization until the embryo is a fetus. With this you can study the processes in theory and then see them in practice.
These staining techniques are very useful to know how limbs develop in the embryo, and process like the ossification, formation of the placenta, and shape of the fetal organs.

In conclusion, this year, we learn all that we have studied with practical work.
Because in them we used all types of technologies to enhance the learning.
And in the area of health, technology is the main tool for detect pathologies in users. And in our career, the sonogram for example, is the most used to see how is the baby inside the womb.
And if there is problem, can be prevented in time by health professionals.
So, I can say personally, that the technology used in class, were very helpfull.
Now I have the theory and practice part of this subjects, so i will remember all the things that I learned this year.

Post # 11: Challenges in your discipline.
Write about important challenges your discipline is currently facing, connected to each of the following areas:- Technology- Social Matters- Education- Define the challenges- Say how you think they should be resolved in each case- Mention the critical issues involved in each area- Word Count: 350- Leave comments on 2 of your classmates’ posts.

I think that as obstetricians, we have a lot of challenges connected with different areas.
In technology for example, there are many ways to do an ultrasound. Because you can get images in 2D or 3D (two or three dimensions), and with this you can see if the baby comes healthy or not.
You can see with this how is the baby, which is their position and if there is any development problem and see the opportunity to save him.
And for the mather there are many ways now to have his baby safely and without abdominal scars. So, today womens could be satisfied with their bodies and keep going a normal life after the delivery. And this is because, with technology have increased the prevention measures and the importance of the aesthetics. Womans now can use after a delivery a bikini for example, cause the scares aren't as great as before. In fact, actually there is laser surgery that prevents the scars on the skin.
If we talk about our challenges in social matters, we as obstetricians have the opportunity and the responsibility to guide the community in several respects. We must guide the community to have a healthy sexual life and to prevent the diseases (STDs). This will avoid the abortion or the misbirths and promoting the life.
Other challenge is the economic situation of the mothers, so now in the primary health centers there are many benefits to them. The obstetrician besides make birth control, give woman the opportunity to talk with a social asistent. Mothers can have dental benefits and milk delivery.
And in education, this professional can teach the community in things like:
- family planning
- disease preventions
- The use of birth control pills
- The correct way to breastfeed
- The correct way to use condoms
- The correct use of contraceptives

So i think that as obstreticians, we have many areas connected with the education, technology and saocial matters to do god things for the community. And it will depend of how we do the different changes to improve health care.

Post # 10: Improving your faculty
This time you have to write about your immediate environment: your faculty.Develop your ideas as you answer these questions:1. WHAT IS THE CURRENT SITUATION IN YOUR FACULTY?2. WHAT THINGS NEED IMPROVEMENT?3. WHAT WOULD BE YOUR FIRST STEPS TO DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION?4. HOW WOULD YOU RESOLVE THIS SITUATION?5. WHAT COULD BE THE REAL BENEFITS/IMPACT OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS?6. NEXT STEPS & FURTHER RECOMMENDATIONS.Number of Words: 250 - 300.Don’t forget to make comments on 2 of your classmates’ posts

My faculty it's very big, it has two gyms, and a lot of classrooms and auditoriums, three sports fields, but it has only four grassy places. So , when you want to be outdoors with your friends at the lunch, it is difficult to find a place couse, they are all occupied.
In general, the faculty has many parts for study, like library, classrooms, auditoriums, and laboratories, but, grassy places are necessary.
The benefits of this are:
- That in the summer is very nice to sit down there comfortably because it is very soft.
- You can go there to talk something important that you don't want the others to listen.
- If you have a hard test you can go there to study and nobody will distract you like in the library.
- You can go there to lunch without unpleasant odors as there are in the casino.
- You could go there to sleep, and relax under the shade of a tree if the environment is so warm.
- As an outdoor place, you can smoke if you want in a comfortable way and without the concern if other person don't smoke.
- You can play a Futboll match whith your friends, and have falls not so painful.
- If you want to sharing with your friends, you can go there with things to drink and with a good guitar to sing without bothering anyone.
- And of course, as a university student, you can give there the welcome to the new students called "mechones".

But, all benefits have a cost, and if we will have in the future more grassy places, as a students of the university we must care these areas doing things like throw the garbage where it belongs: dumps. This is very necessary to maintain the grass in good condition and to prove that as young people, we are environmentally responsible.
